This Notice explains how Rasmitec SoHo Solutions Ltd handles personal data across its platform — the Studio, where Hosts and their Cast sign in, and the Audit Chamber broadcast, where Citizens take part. It is written to Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.
Rasmitec SoHo Solutions Ltd (“Rasmitec”, “we”, “us”) is a company registered in Nairobi, Kenya. For the personal data described in this Notice, Rasmitec is the data controller — we decide why and how it is processed.
For any question about this Notice or your personal data, contact us at info@rasmitec.com.
This Notice applies to everyone whose personal data we process in running the platform:
Payments are handled by third-party payment providers. We do not receive or store full card or mobile-money credentials. We receive the limited transaction data we need to confirm a purchase and settle a session — for example, that a payment succeeded, its amount, and a reference.
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, we must have a lawful basis for each use of your personal data. Ours are:
| What we do | Why — and our lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Sign you in and run your account, session, or participation | To provide what you have signed up for — performance of our agreement with you (our Terms). |
| Deliver Digital Access Assets, run the vote, and settle a session | Performance of our agreement, and to run the platform's core function. |
| Moderate the broadcast and keep the platform secure | Our legitimate interest in a safe, lawful platform, and in preventing abuse and fraud. |
| Confirm payments and keep proper records | Performance of our agreement, and compliance with legal and accounting obligations. |
| Improve and maintain the service | Our legitimate interest in running and improving what we offer. |
| Anything you have specifically agreed to | Your consent — which you may withdraw at any time. |
The live broadcast is moderated, including by automated means. An automated screen checks messages against a list of prohibited terms — for example, the language of gambling or abuse — and may flag or act on a message, and record a strike against an account that repeats a breach. Decisions that would remove a participant are subject to human oversight. This screening exists to keep the platform lawful and safe; you can contact us at info@rasmitec.com if you believe a decision about you was wrong.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the platform:
Some of our service providers operate outside Kenya, so your personal data may be transferred to and processed in other countries. Where it is, we take steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard consistent with the Data Protection Act, 2019, including through appropriate contractual safeguards with those providers.
We keep personal data for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this Notice — to run your account or participation, to keep the Ledger and settle sessions, to meet legal and accounting obligations, and to resolve disputes. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous. Where the law sets a minimum period for keeping certain records, we keep them for at least that long.
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, contact us at info@rasmitec.com. We will respond within the time the law requires. Exercising a right may, in some cases, mean we can no longer provide part of the service — we will tell you if so.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access — including access controls, encryption in transit, and one-time sign-in rather than stored passwords. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe and to respond properly if something goes wrong.
The platform is not directed at children. You must be of the legal age and capacity to enter a binding agreement where you live in order to hold an account or take part. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of children; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.
We may update this Notice as the platform and the law develop. When we make a material change, we will update the version and, where appropriate, tell you. The version and date below show the current Notice.
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at info@rasmitec.com so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), Kenya's data-protection regulator.
